Over 30 years ago Pete Marta and his wife of Calaseh, Italy, came to the Western Slope of Colorado. They first lived at Cedaredge and Bowie before settling on Roger Mesa, Hotchkiss, Colorado.
The Marta’s bought the property now owned by Mr. and Mrs. John Marta where they resided until 1938 when they moved to California.
There were 10 children, including twins that died when they were babies. Another child, Edith, died in 1957. There are 24 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
